It Is SO Over & Other News

This whole Blogtember thing is just too much work, and as you can see, I have quit doing it anyways. I just wasn't inspired by the prompts. So it is SO over.

A lot has been going on in my life! School is crazy, but not as crazy as it was. I dropped my AP US History class. I just couldn't live a healthy life when I had two hours of homework every night just for one class. Its was just too much! So now I am just in Honors US History. The teacher is great and I have a TON of friends in that class. So it's all good! :)

I just have to say I don't understand those people who have 4 AP classes, the school play, and a job. Do you just not sleep? Are you a robot? Do you have a homework slave who does it all for you? Are you insane? Are you even human? Either way, I hope you don't die of exhaustion or go crazy and end up in a loony bin somewhere.

I have been absolutely LOVING my Interior Design class. For those of you who don't know, I want to be an Interior Designer when I am older. This means that I HAVE to go to Utah State University because they are the only school in the state that offers a Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) program. (And I REALLY don't want to go out of state, it's too much work and it cost too much.) This also means that I have to get a 32 on the ACT if I want a full ride... So yay for ACT Saturday study sessions with my ACT book and my kitchen table. Ew.

Now for my mini gripe session:

I have a basement bedroom. My mother does not. My mother controls the thermostat. I do not. It gets cold in the basement before it gets cold upstairs. I get really cold at night. My mother does not. Now I know that she had a basement bedroom when she was growing up. So I know she knows what it's like to be freezing. But now that she has been upstairs for so many years, I feel she has forgotten how horrible it actually is. So, this is my petition to her to have a stay in the basement this weekend and really feel how horrible it is all over again. Then maybe, just maybe (probably not), she will start to turn the heater on at night for the basement dwellers. She did turn on the heater for like five minutes last night, but that so doesn't count because five minutes is just barely enough time to get the cold air out of the vents and to actually start blowing hot air. So yeah. that's my gripe for the day.

ANYWAYS. I am excited to announce that I will be doing my 30 Days of Thanksgiving posts again this year! Starting November 1st I will be writing about one thing I am thankful for every day in the month of November. Feel free to join me, you don't have to have a blog! Post it on Facebook or Twitter, or even just write it in your journal. Just be thankful! I promise it will bless your life!

Have a happy day!

{BLOGTEMBER} Day 9

Today I am supposed to post a self portrait. Now, I don't draw very well... No. I take that back, I don't draw faces very well. So I will post the modern self portrait: The Selfie.

I have to say I am proud this is one of the very few selfies I have taken. There are some people who take like 20,000  every day and I just think, "Oh my, self obsessed much?" But ya know, it's whatever. Take as many selfies as you want, just don't be surprised if I unfollow you or hide your FB posts. It just gets a bit obnoxious after a while. :)

On another note: It's the homecoming game tonight! Go Lancers!

{BLOGTEMBER} Day 8

Thursday, September 12: Discuss ways that blogging or social media has changed you.

Blogging and social medial has changed my life in many ways. I think when it comes to social networks I enjoy the fact that I can communicate with family out of state or those I don't see often. But I often find myself wasting chunks of time checking Facebook and Twitter, and i'm quite sure that if I had no Facebook or Twitter, I would get a lot more done in a day. But I don't delete them because they have positive aspects as well.

Blogging is another story. I have never once regretted the time I have spent within the blogging world. Never. And thus I look at it as a purely positive influence in my life. What I read and write here is productive. It gets my mind moving and thinking in ways it normally doesn't and I love that. The blogging community is so fun and I definitely plan on keeping it as a regular part of my life.

Thanks for reading!

Hannah

P.S. Sorry it's kind of short today! I have quite the stack of homework to do. Oh joy...

{BLOGTEMBER} Day 5/6

So I skipped yesterday because I had writers block, and i was tired, and it was Temple Tuesday today so I had to sleeeeeep. So I am making it up today! :)

Day 5

So, I took this personality test and I accidentally exited out of the website, and I am too lazy to take it again so I am just going to tell you what it basically said.

Basically, it told me that I am an introverted control freak who likes to write everything down.

And now I tell you what I think about that. I do admit that I have my introverted moments, but I don't get anxiety in public or anything like that. I have a lot of friends and I enjoy hanging out, but I also enjoy time to myself. I consider myself an even mix of both. Now they didn't actually say "control freak" but that's basically what they said. I enjoy having my day planned out and I enjoy when it goes according to plan, okay? And yes. I write a lot of stuff down. I also draw a lot. Happy?

Also I am slightly sarcastic.

Day 6

Tuesday, September 10: Describe a distinct moment when your life took a turn.

Oh, did I mention I still have freaking writers block? Because I do, so I will keep it very simple and a bit cryptic as well.

Okay, here we go.
Here's how it went.
Sat us down, gave us some fudge, and then dropped the (expected on my part) bomb.
The End.

Figure that one out!

P.S. I still eat fudge. Duh. It's chocolate. Why wouldn't you eat it?

{BLOGTEMBER} Day 4

Friday, September 6: A story about a time you were very afraid.

Okay so here's the deal. I. HATE. SPIDERS. Like, Ron Weasly scared of spiders.So.. I have decided to tell this story, HARRY POTTER STYLE!

The Spiders

So this one day I walk into my room and I see a spider. Now this wasn't just any spider. It was HUGE. You guys I Solemnly SWEAR that it was totally one of Aragog's children.

And it is just sitting there on my bedroom door like "Oh hey girl! Just hanging here for a while and then I will probably kill you in your sleep by sucking out your soul like a dementor because that's what we spiders do if you don't kill us." You know, totally chill about it.

So here I am staring at this giant spider and my mind is going a million miles an hour, the adrenaline rushes, and almost in slow motion (well actually it really was in slow motion because if you move what ever the spider is on too quickly it might jump off and attack). I inched my way out of my room and ran upstairs as fast as I could. I grabbed my little brother. Okay, yes, he is younger than me. I am running to my younger, comfortable with killing bugs, brother. He came down to my room and the battle that ensued looked a little something like this...

And Harry My brother won! Voldemort The Spider was defeated and that was the end of it.

OR WAS IT?

1 day later....

BAM!

ANOTHER ONE!

Me:

Rupert Grint aka Ron Weasley

But this time it was worse.

IT WAS ON THE CEILING.

ABOVE MY BED!

I actually found it as I was about to go to bed. So basically I slept on the couch that night. And the night after that. Basically I didn't sleep in my room until the exterminator came and

KILLED

EVERY

LAST

ONE

The End.

19 weeks later

I have gone back to Hogwarts (Actually my school is nothing like Hogwarts, I just say that to make myself feel better.) and I am going to complete my time here. I will probably go into Interior Design (House Elf  Equality Activist and later Ministry of Magic Department of Magical Law Enforcement). And then eventually marry the love of my life in the temple. (Probably a very attractive redhead)

The spiders have not bothered me for 19 weeks. All is well.

P.S. What if the spider had killed me you ask?

Well...

{BLOGTEMBER} Day 3

Thursday, September 5: Pass on some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered.

All right folks! I have three pieces of advice that I have never forgotten. One comes from a crazy, psycho, guilt-ridden lady. Another from my Grandfather. And one from a 4'9" Power Tumbler and Power Blogger. So lets jump right in shall we?

In the 9th grade I took a theater class my first semester. Traditionally the first semester theater class puts on what is fondly referred to as "Dinner Theatre". Simply put, you eat dinner...while you watch theatre. SO CREATIVE I KNOW RIGHT? ;) The theatre you are watching is actually scenes from William Shakespeare's various plays. Each student in our class was given a role (or in the guys cases multiple roles seeing as there was a guy to girl ratio of about 1 to 5 in the class) and I was selected for the role of Lady Macbeth. I performed the scene where she is sleepwalking and freaking out because she thinks she has blood on her hands. Anyways. The one line of that entire scene that has always stuck with me (Even though I still have the whole thing memorized..) goes as follows,

"What's done cannot be undone."

Being the slightly OCD person that I am, I sometimes freak out if I'm not somewhere on time, or something isn't just right. This line, again and again, reminds me that what's happened is done. Move on. In other words, you're going to be late, so deal with it as it comes and chill out! It really is a great thing to remember. We cannot change the past, but we can roll with the punches and live our lives with the knowledge that,

"Everything will be okay in the end, and if it's

not okay, it is not the end."

-Dennis Davis

(My awesome grandpa)

My third piece of advice comes from my dear friend Whitney. When ever any of our friends are dealing with a problem, she simply says 3 words.

"Pray about it."

It really is the greatest solution. If you are having a hard time, if you are frustrated in school or at work, if you just don't know what to do. Just pray about it! Our Heavenly Father want's to help us and is there to listen and love us! So give him a "call" and let him help you with your troubles.

{BLOGTEMBER} Day 2

Wednesday, September 4, 2013 If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do?

If I could take three months off from my current life and do anything in the world I would TRAVEL! My life goal (aside from being sealed in one of these gorgeous temples) is to travel to all seven continents. That's right! ALL OF THEM. I've already got North America (obviously..I live here..), I just need South America, Europe, Antarctica, Australia, Asia, and Africa. And I think I could do them all in three months if I had to. Of course I would need some major cash. Getting to Antarctica ain't cheap ya know!

I think I would start with South America and visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (and see the Cristo Redentor statue), then go to Venezuela and see Angel Falls, and then go to Machu Picchu, Peru. I think they would both be amazing places to visit, experience, and learn more about!

After South America I would travel to Antarctica (Whoa! Talk about climate change!) and hang with the penguins! I would take a cruise from South America down to King George Island and Hope Bay. It will take about 15 days to return back to South America, but it will be SO worth it! I mean... PENGUINS!

Photo from Google Images

After Antarctica I will fly to Africa and start in Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls. Then I would love to go to Ethiopia and do some service helping at an orphanage.

From Africa I would go to Europe. England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, the works!

After Europe It's on to Asia. I definitely want to go to the Philippines because my mom lived there for a while while she was growing up. I also want to go to Japan and China!

China

After Asia I will head to the outback! Australia is my last stop on the list. I just have 4 words. Koala Bears and Kangaroos.

So that's what I would do if I had three months off from everything! Remember to chase your dreams, because they aren't just going to fall into your lap, silly!
